I've been a supporter of CHIRP Radio for many years, but since I've joined the CHIRP Board a few years ago, I've learned so much about what I think is a truly incredible non-profit arts organization.
CHIRP broadcasts commercial-free radio over the air and online 365 days a year, 24/7. It is able to do so through the efforts of 270+ volunteers, 13 different departments, and only one paid staffer!
CHIRP organized or participated in promoting hundreds of events across Chicago and played music from nearly 2,000 local artists last year!
CHIRP broadcast public service announcements promoting 100 non-profits across the Chicago area last year!
Did you know that CHIRP helped pass a bill through Congress that's resulted in more than 1,000(!) new radio stations launching across the country? It's true!!!
