- We're independent media, community-led and managed, independent from the programming pressure of labels or corporate ownership. We are the first place many Chicago bands ever got their first air time.
- It's purely altruistic and artistic, run by volunteers for the love of music who spend hours curating the playlist they want to showcase on air. Even the music I don't like is good.
- It's connected and synchronous to our lives, not on-demand pre-recorded, and there's something about tuning in at a particular time because that's when the set you want is on, not being able to skip songs, hearing the DJ mention local business you know of, etc.
